Getting Started
The very first step is to change
your domains DNS to the name servers you received in your
welcome email.
You must go to where
you registered your domain and change the DNS name server
settings to our DNS so
that your domain name will resolve to our servers.
Uploading to your site
You can begin uploading to your
account now by using a ftp client or cPanel's File Manager.
We recommend using FileZilla FTP client which you can find
by going here.
If you are using an ftp client program put in your sites
IP address under the "host address" (In most cases it is
216.110.82.174) field and your cPanel username
& password.
Once your ftp is connected go into the "public_html"
folder and begin uploading to your site. To replace the
default place holder page you must upload an index.html,
index.php or index.htm.
All file names must be in all lowercase lettering
and without spaces.
Composing You
Website
The easiest way
to create a Web page is to use a Web authoring-tool, also
called an HTML-authoring tool. Some of the more common authoring
tools are Composer, which is free and available from
Netscape, FrontPage, which is available
for purchase from Microsoft, and Dreamweaver,
which is available for purchase from Macromedia. These
tools write the HTML code for you as you compose your page.
Using them is similar to using a word processor such as
Microsoft Word.
Database Configurations
**Important**
When creating websites that require a database, please
specify “dbhost” as the sql server name instead of “localhost”.
Failure to do this will result in a non working installation
of your website.
